I'm a 57-year-old professional land surveyor from Portland, Oregon, a city I love for its creativity, natural beauty, and independent spirit. My work takes me outdoors and off the beaten path, which suits me perfectly. I've always been curious about the world and eager to explore it.
I have a concrete dream I'm actively working toward: to relocate to Eastern Europe within the next 4 to 6 years. Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Georgia, and Türkiye are on the list. My vision is to buy or build a year-round dacha, a true home in the country, where I can grow vegetables, fruit trees, and melons, and live at a slower, more grounded pace. This isn't a vague wish; it's a real plan, and I'd love to share it with the right person.
I want to be upfront out of respect for everyone's time. Due to my personal feelings about current world events, I don't foresee myself traveling to Russia or Belarus in the foreseeable future. This is something I hold with no judgment toward any individual; it is simply my reality. For that reason, a relationship would be difficult to sustain with someone whose life is rooted there. Travel, for me, isn't just about seeing new things; it's about understanding different ways of life. I enjoy cooking at home and dining out, going to the theater, watching good films, and spending time with family and friends.
I'm an avid reader of science fiction and have a deep curiosity about science, history, and ancient places. Nature renews me, whether I'm by the ocean, a lake, or a river, swimming, boating, biking, hiking, or camping.
