Preface: Illusion is the first pleasure. All that glitters is not gold. We can want to find love so much that we fool ourselves into feeling in love from pictures and few kind words. I am guilty of this myself a couple of times. I wanted to focus on only one person and ignored all the others that had any interest in me. Then the “one” doesn’t get more serious and the “bloom” falls from the rose. And I am hurt afterward because it was only in my mind. So if we think there is connection eventually we have to meet prove it. Until that happens we are friends with a strong attraction for each other. Which is still inspiring and feels good. Don’t you think so?
I am happy with myself. Someone else cannot “make” me happy. I see life as the glass is half full. It takes two happy people to build a strong secure bond. Finding happiness from the other person might work in beginning but it will only be temporary. You will end up disappointed in the long term. So relax do not get over excited and let us be friends and get know each other.

Personality
Three years ago I thought I could meet someone compatible with me but I can’t say I even found one friend. Spent the time talking to myself. Last year I retired after 30 years at an airline and started driving a taxi while I invest in the stock market. (There is a lot to learn) I have been very busy which is why I do not check the dating site often.
I like rock n roll long hair and playing the drums. I want to learn to play bass guitar when I find time.
Don't worry about the virus it is not as serious as the news reports. Life will get better we just get through this rough time.
I think I'm logical but I know life is more emotional for us than we admit. I'm politically incorrect in my views and I have strong opinions about many topics. I'm 5'7” average build, blue eyes, hair shaggy most of the time, beard in the winter (sometimes). I'm stuck in the 60's. WARNING: I may revert back to my old self when I retire. (see photos)
I'm in blue jeans and cowboy boots all time. I'm spoiled even at my job. I have no tatoos and I'm not into jewelry. I had a pocket watch until I got the cell phone.
I like classic cars, rock n roll, old country, blues (classical is good too). I use many herbs, my motto is “let God fix what God made”. I do a good job staying healthy so I don't need to go to a doctor. There's one herb I like to smoke occasionally but it's not tobacco. (I am an old hippie, I question authority) I'm interested to learn new facts or insight about history or a better way to do something.
Night life is good once in a while, I like going and listening to bands but drinking and staying up late is not what I do every weekend. I stay up late enough on the computer now.
I enjoy the sunshine and being outside, working in the yard, riding a bike, hiking in the woods, sitting on the beach or camp fires at night and watching for meteors. I have a simple diet. All my life I have taken vitamins and herbs but this year I got very serious about food also. I have lost 25 lbs. (11 Kg) and now my bad knee does not hurt all the time. I am staying away from package food, sugar, and bread. Mainly I eat eggs, cheese, yogurt, beans, fruits vegetables, and nuts. If I buy meat it is grass feed, it is much better for you. I love BBQ, I have smoker. I like Mexican food, pasta and pizzas but those are what got me out shape. Can't have that all the time.
Some movies are good but I like music more. Concerts, bars, and music festivals are fun. I'm not really a dancer, I don't gyrate like all the other energetic people but slow dancing is nice since I get to hold the girl! I like getting up close the band and soaking up the vibrations.
My routine is work (there is more than can be done in 8 hours), walk and feed the dogs. Try to exercise. Then it seems there are always chores of something to fix. Hobbies would be if I devoted the time would relearn some electronics and tinker, restore an old car, do some woodwork and learn to play the bass guitar. I have drumsticks and beat on a practice pad to rock and roll. It lets of steam and the dogs like it. (you can call me crazy) Everyone else thinks so. Oh and I follow the stock market.
I'm not a big consumer. I do not have to have the all the newest gadgets. I wear things out before I replace it. It does not bother me to wear the same shirts for years.
I work at an airline managing spare inventory for the mechanics. It involves a lot of numbers. Part numbers, and serial numbers, looking at average usage, estimating future demand and deciding what cities to stock parts at for support. The job has it challenges but it fits my personality that is why I have been there 30 years. When I get home sometimes my eyes (and mind) are tired from staring at the computer all day. So if I seem slow to respond to you it is not because I don't care.
I took a personality test on a different dating site and I have to agree with 90% of it. It could be a more objective description, good and bad, of me. If you are interested to see it let me know.
