Creative translationRecommended for long letters, especially first/introduction letters. Creative Translation is a way of improving the quality of your letters, based on specifics of Russian language and psychology. To make it more understandable for you, this is the same type of process that used in translating books from one language to another - finding corresponding idioms, explaining words and phrases that do not have distinctive meaning in another language etc. When it is advisable to use Creative Translation? On the introduction stage of your relationship, when the impression your letter creates is more important that the actual content (your first 2-3 letters to a woman). One small mistake of cultural nature may ruin all your efforts. Why do you need it? The structure of sentences in English and Russian is completely different. An English sentence is supposed to be short; it must have a definite order of words. Russian sentences don't have a strict structure. A sentence can consist of the only word, doesn't have a subject, has any order of the words and several subordinate clauses. Usually Russian sentences are much longer than English ones. 10-15 lines sentences are nothing special. Literal translation makes a brilliant English letter sound stupid and hardly understandable. Changing expressions and eliminating unnecessary parts of sentences also don't create a "Russian letter". To make a letter sound "Russian", it must be completely rewritten. Writing letters is a special sort of skill, and requires experience. A good letter is interactive, easy, and fun to read. You must also take in consideration the cultural differences. Most often women do not respond because of a very simple reason: the letters did not make them interested enough. Usually it happens because you write about the things that are important for YOU, but not for a Russian lady. Also some things that sound absolutely clear for you may be beyond her knowledge, and she will disregard your letter because she cannot understand what it's all about. The only way to avoid possible cultural misunderstandings is to have a native Russian reviewed your letter, and look at it the way a Russian woman will. While trying to save the style of your letter, the translator will remove unnecessary repetitions and possible double meanings, and explain the things that need explanations. Also, if there is an unlucky coincidence in names (for example, your first name sounds like a swear word in Russian - it happens!), we will advise you how to avoid this problem. We do not add anything that changes the content or the sense of your letter; we just make it easy and pleasing to read for a RUSSIAN lady. It's more than simple translation, it's creative editing based on psychological specifics of Russian culture. It's why we call this type of translation Creative Translation.
