This quality is very strong in Russian women who are used to stand for their husbands despite adversity, sometimes to the extent that may surprise you. So, a Russian wife is "The Good Wife". She is intelligent, educated and hardworking, and by no means submissive; what she is, a devoted partner and friend, someone who you can rely upon in sickness and health, in rich and poor. This is the character that a Russian wife brings to a marriage.
