This morning I woke up and saw "Google's 13th Birthday" icon on Google's home page.
"Oh my Gosh," I thought, "It's only been 13 years..." It's about the same amount of time I've been in the business of Russian dating! I found out about Google in my first year as a newbie webmaster about mid-to-end-1999 (we all were using AltaVista and Yahoo at the time) and was so excited about it, I wanted to share it with all my visitors! So, I put Google's search box on my site (my first website Russian Brides Cyber Guide) and it's still there until today on the home page of the site. It's been a great ride since then and lots of exciting things happened. You know how it works, we always overestimate what we can do in a year and always underestimate what we can do in five years... And now it's been 13 years!! I could never imagine in my wildest dreams that my life would be what it is today. I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Gold Coast in Australia (which is indeed pure gold - the weather, the beaches, the people and so many other things!) and I always wanted to live in a seaside resort town, where life is a holiday 365 days a year and people pay thousands to come and vacation once a year or maybe even once in a lifetime... When I thought how cool would it be to live by the sea, whilst vacationing on the Black Sea in Russia at the end of 1980th, I could never even imagine I would end up in a beautiful place like this in an absolutely amazing country such as Australia! (No offence but I would not want to live anywhere else in the world) It's indeed a dream come true. And dreaming about my own family whilst being a single Russian girl in Russia, dreaming about a couple of kids (a boy and a girl) and a partner who genuinely loves and understands me, and with whom I can wake up every day happy... I never thought I would get so much more. Having a career helping people to find their love around the globe and having hundreds of thousands of clients... (more than 2 million profiles went through Elena's Models since it started 12+ years ago), I would never even dream about that. I always loved social studies and writing and I also enjoy business and marketing, but combining it all into one job of a dating website owner... how could I dream about that, I only learned to use Internet in 1998 when emigrated from Russia? So... Your dreams can come true and you can get much more than you can even dream of today. If you do what you love and you love what you do, you will be good at it and you will help others, no matter what you do. Don't be afraid to take a risk and know that rewards can be greater than you ever imagined... What feels like a dream today may be your reality a few years later. It's not where you are today; it's where are you going. You can never fail unless you stop trying. Think where were you 13 years ago, what dreams and hopes you had... how's your life today compared to those dreams? You are capable of so much more than you think you are; everyone is. It's knowing that YOU CAN DO IT that makes it easier to achieve, and each and every one of us can achieve whatever we can dream of and more... "if you can dream it, you can do it".
